

A visual novel based on the series was released in April 2009 by Bandai Namco Games for the PlayStation Portable.The title Toradora! is derived from the names of the two main characters Taiga Aisaka and Ryūji Takasu. NIS America licensed the anime and released it in North America in two half-season DVD collections in July and August 2010, with an English dubbed BD collection released in July 2014. A Blu-ray Disc (BD) box set containing an original video animation episode was released on December 21, 2011.

Taiga is hot tempered and views a lot of people with distaste and even towards Ryuuji after their first meeting. To make matters worse, she is a good friend of Kushieda Minori. Things became more interesting though when he accidentally bumps into “The school’s most dangerous animal having the highest risk level” – Aisaka Taiga - who also happens to be in the same class. On the brighter side of things, he will be in the same class as well as his best friend Kitamura Yusaku and Kushieda Minori whom he has a crush on for a very long time. Because of his eyes, people tend to shun him and often get the impression that he is a delinquent not knowing that he has a gentle personality. Takasu Ryuuji is a second year high school student who is having a difficult time fitting in due to his intimidating eyes. Hayate no Gotoku and even Shakugan no Shana has a bit of similar elements even though the genre may be far off.

The series has a similar feeling to a number of romantic comedy anime having a main tsundere female protagonist. The anime had a total of 25 episodes with the last episode airing on the 26th of March of 2009. The production studio responsible for the animation was J.C. And then on October 2nd 2008 the first episode of the anime adaptation was aired and was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada. It was then transfered since Monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! merged up with it's sister magazine, Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh.
